Salad Proposes Integration with the Render Network

Bob Miles

I’m excited to share that Salad has submitted a formal proposal alongside the Render Network Foundation to become a subnet on the Render Network. This would involve fully transitioning our payments and rewards for distributed computing and bandwidth sharing to on-chain transactions using RENDER.

Eight years ago Salad was founded with the vision of unlocking millions of idle consumer devices and GPUs to meet exponential demand for accelerated compute cycles. AI is proliferating- this is the moment Salad has been building towards. For growth to continue accelerating, we need a partner that breaks the constraints of legacy service providers, offering transaction efficiency across our global infrastructure.

We believe the Render Network is that partner, the right partner for our journey of progressive decentralisation. Salad has been evaluating DePIN seriously for months now. What started as customer requests, became curiosity about blockchain payments, and subsequently grew into something much more fundamental: a reckoning with how decentralised infrastructure could strengthen everything powering Salad today. We tested. We learned. The more we understood what the best DePIN protocols were actually building, the clearer it became that the future of our marketplace lives on chain.

Rather than launching our own token in an already crowded marketplace, Salad is best served partnering with an existing protocol backed by a high-quality team with a clear vision. Render delivers this in a way no other partner could.

Benefits for Our Customers

New and existing Salad customers will be able to fund Salad accounts directly with RENDER alongside existing fiat options. As we capture lower cost-of-goods through on-chain payments, we expect to introduce pricing incentives that reward RENDER transactions, making our massively scalable and low cost GPU infra even more accessible for developers, startups, and enterprises. Our core products – Salad Container Engine and Salad Gateway Service – will continue to deliver the same reliable experience.

Benefits for Chefs

Those powering our network, Salad’s beloved Chefs, will gain greater flexibility and more predictable economics. Rewards will be available in RENDER, with the option to withdraw to a self-custody wallet or redeem through our existing storefront.

Render’s Investment Signals Strong Alignment

We’re excited to see the Render Network Foundation is providing Salad with incentives funded from existing treasury reserves. This capital will accelerate our migration while giving Render a direct stake in Salad’s success.  We’re stoked about the shared enthusiasm the Render team has shown!

Building the Foundation for Agentic AI

The timing is right. Demand for affordable, distributed inference capacity is surging as the industry shifts toward agentic AI systems. By partnering with Render, we are combining our proven marketplace and thousands of latent consumer GPUs with a mature DePIN ecosystem. Together we can deliver sustainable, cost-effective compute at global scale: this will be the infrastructure layer the AI economy needs.
The proposal is now open for review by the Render community. We look forward to working closely with the Render Foundation and network participants to bring this integration to life over the coming months, and we will share regular updates as milestones are reached.
To our customers and Chefs, thank you for your continued support. To the broader Render community, we’d love to join you on this journey!  This partnership is about creating lasting value through better economics, greater efficiency, and shared infrastructure for the AI future ahead.
Let’s make this happen!
